There were no declarations of interest made by Members.

The Committee is asked to interview the candidates and decide whether to make an appointment.  The CVs and supporting statements of the candidates will be circulated to the Committee members attending confidentially.

The Appointments Committee considered the interview, testing and background information on the candidates selected for final interview for the post of Monitoring Officer / Solicitor to the Council.

Following the interviews with 2 candidates, the Appointments Committee advised by the Chief Executive made the decision not to appoint either candidate to the role. The decision was made to re-advertise and recruitment again in early 2020.

RESOLVED: The Appointments Committee resolved that the post of Monitoring Officer / Solicitor to the Council for South Somerset District Council be re-advertised in early 2020 and the Chief Executive seek an interim solution until a suitable candidate is appointed.
