Adoption of the Statement of Principles (Gambling) 2016 - 2019
Minutes:
The Portfolio Holder for Licensing introduced the report and invited questions from Members.
There were no questions and the recommendations were proposed and seconded and unanimously agreed by Members.
RESOLVED: |
That Council: |

1. |
agreed the body to fulfil the Responsible Authority role to advise the Licensing Authority on Protecting Children from Harm is changed to Somerset Local Safeguarding Children Board; |
|
2. |
agreed the revised draft Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005 and the suggested amendments; |
|
3. |
authorised the Licensing Manager to publish the amended Statement of Principles and any notices required in accordance with the provision of the Gambling Act 2005; |
|
4. |
delegated the power to make any minor amendments to the Statement of Principles to the Licensing Manager in consultation with the Assistant Director – Environment. |
Reason: |
The Gambling Act 2005 - (the Act) places a duty on the Licensing Authority to produce a Statement of Principles. Licensing Authorities are required to review the policy document every three years and to consult on this document. |
